As a kid, I watched Charlie Brown during the holiday seasons, but it wasn't until I got older that I appreciated Charles Schulz's genius. Peanuts is one of the longest continuous running works of art, lasting 60 years. Its writing has deep roots in American History, Philosophy, and Psychology. We here are so thankful for people like Charles Schulz, who create art to help express a deeper message to children and adults.
If you're looking for a good read and love bio books like we do, check out "Schulz and Peanuts: a Biography by David Michaelis." David tells a great story of this genius pop culture icon who, like Charlie Brown, was shy. He was quoted as saying, "I suppose there's a melancholy feeling in a lot of cartoonists because cartooning, like all other humor, comes from bad things happening."
Thank you Charles Schulz for creating tenderness combined with humor to help make sense of this crazy world we live in.
