Tucked in the city of Newport Beach, sits a beach where people congregate and slide past each other on water. One of the guys who’s rising is Grant Noble. His approach is one that anyone who has an understanding of elegance and style can appreciate. Physically, the lines he draws on a surfboard puts him in one of the most unique places on the wave. What makes Grant so interesting to us is that his creative ability is matched with his physical ability. We recently got a chance to catch up with him...read on for a glimpse inside the mind of Grant Noble.
Where did you grow up?
Influences in art?
It's weird to think some of my friends might be my favorite artists, people including Alrik Yuill, Ross Schwartz, Jobin Bookout, Tanner Barrett and Mowgly Lee, just to name a few. I've always loved the art behind shaping boards, watching people paint and film photography. It's the coolest thing in the world watching someone do something start to finish then reminisce of what it looked like when they started it.
What's your favorite car you've had?
Hahaha, oh great....I've probably had more than a half a dozen cars and I'm only 19. My all time favorite car was my first car, a 1976 Mercedes 300d in a creamy white color...only had 113k miles on it. Blew the motor and it was toast.
Favorite film maker?
It's real hard always to pick a favorite, but it is probably Jack Coleman- just cause he's a staple in the books.
